Fat Transfer
Fat transfer purely involves the movement of your own fat from one area of
the body to another. For example, fat from the abdomen or inner thighs may
be transferred to fill volume in the face and/or hollows of the cheeks. This
procedure can address the loss of fat in the face, buttocks, breasts,
under-eye area, and other parts of the body, and is a popular alternative to
cosmetic dermal fillers such as: Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, & Belotero.
The Fat Transfer Procedure
During an autologous fat transfer, Dr. Fogleman removes fat from the donor
area using a syringe, or cannula. He will then inject the fat cells into the
area that needs plumping, where the fat re-vascularizes and becomes part of
the body once more. This procedure may be repeated until the desired result
is achieved. This procedure can also be combined with other cosmetic
procedures.
