The Brazilian butt lift surgery is a buttocks augmentation procedure that uses liposuctioned fat from the abdominal area to shape your entire lower body. The removal of excess fat from the abdomen, hips, thighs and sides slims your profile, and the injection of fat into the buttocks gives a shapelier overall appearance.
This procedure is particularly transformative and long lasting due to the extensiveness of the targeted area. It may also be minimally invasive, providing that extensive skin removal is not required due to the liposuction.
Ideal patients for the Brazilian Butt Lift are physically and emotionally healthy, with a stable weight and enough excess fat around their midsection to serve as donor fat for the butt augmentation.
This procedure is capable of dramatically reshaping of the lower body. Some of the possible results include:
To ensure the best outcome, it is recommended that you quit smoking and maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen. If you have too little excess fat on your lower body, you may not be an acceptable candidate for this procedure and may have to pursue other treatment options.
The first stage of the Brazilian butt lift is liposuction of the abdomen, sides, and thighs. The targeted areas are first numbed with a local anesthetic, and a general anesthetic may be administered. Small incisions are made at discrete locations near the target areas, and the excess fat is withdrawn through a long tube.
Prior to reinjection of the removed fat, it must be thoroughly purified and processed. As a result of this step, only a fraction of the removed fat will be reinjected. This purified fat is then carefully reinjected in a precise pattern of varying depth and location. Hundreds of injections may be necessary to achieve the desired effect and permanence.
After the procedure, bandages may be required for the liposuction incisions. The entire treatment area may be fitted with a compression garment to minimize swelling and bruising over the whole area. This garment may need to be worn for up to two weeks.
It is important not to put weight on the buttocks for up to three weeks following the procedure. This helps ensure that the results will be permanent. Swelling may persist for up to six weeks, but a normal schedule may be resumed after three to four weeks. Some complications of this procedure include infection, pain, scarring, and asymmetrical appearance.
